About

We strive to create a home away from home, with spaces that instill calm and free play and child-led discovery are central, and nurturing kaiako guide tamariki as they explore, develop confidence in their abilities and celebrate their uniqueness.

Our Facilities

  • Outdoor garden and natural play: A space lovingly created to support tamariki in exploring, wondering, and leading their own learning journeys
  • Indoor learning spaces: Designed for inquiry, discovery and child-led exploration.
  • Sleep facilities: Dedicated, comforting sleep space that reflects the children’s home routines and rhythms.
  • Meals provided: Fully catered service offering healthy and balanced meals each day.
  • Special features: We nurture respectful, heart-led relationships that flow through every part of our care and daily interactions.

Programmes

We run a mixed-age programme so siblings and friends can learn together. Kaiako respond to each child’s interests, building early literacy, numeracy, language, social skills and self-help through play, stories, music and movement.

What Whānau and ERO say about us

  • Children engage with a range of resources and provocations that are purposefully placed to provide opportunities for them to lead their own learning.
  • A variety of loose parts and sensory exploration resources, appropriate to children’s ages and stages of development, respond to their interests and promote their curiosity.
  • Teachers have created a calm and settled learning environment through using a primary care approach and implementing intentional teaching strategies such as positioning, forecasting and narrating that support children’s sense of belonging.
  • Well considered strategies are implemented to effectively support children, their parents and whānau to access the curriculum. Social services and organisational initiatives including good adult: child ratios, specialist support and resourcing help to mitigate potential barriers that impact on children’s learning and wellbeing.
  • Teachers use a wide range of intentional strategies that support, question, facilitate and provide provocations for children’s thinking.
